its really fascinating to know that pple can see such different things after watching the very same thing. perharps its just tt everyone one of us is unique... :)
got a free ticket for ROTK, and since i agreed earlier on, decided to go watch it again... went an hour late cuz i realised claire was having cheerleading competition, so decided to watch and support her. well, think she did quite well considering how little practise she had. almost wasn't let into the movie, and had a hell of a time trying to find my seat in the dark. guard thot i was sneaking in from another movie... wth.
was as good the second time as the first i guess... expect tt the atmosphere wasn't there. there'd be phones going off and children wailing during some epic/emotional scences... got quite irritated. plus, the audience weren't cheering like when i watched the previous time, which made it all the more nicer... :) still remembered there were pple cheering at the beginning of the movie and someone shouted, "can't u wait till the end of the movie?" and pple laughed... ;)
anyway, this is what struck cm most, "i thought one of the points of the book was that no one can win against the power of the ring and to show the fallibility of ourselves (frodo as the protagonist, is crafted in the image of the reader) in the end frodo did accomplish his task partly because of himself (besides we must remember that he never wanted to bear the burden of the ring). he could have gotten rid of gollum so many times, killed him, etc. (if he had listened to sam) but his own mercy towards gollum proved vital in the end perhaps to tolkien, this act of mercy is more than enough to overshadow the failure of his strength and will. it's one of my favourite endings to any story tolkien wasnt afraid to end the heroic tale with a tinge of sadness"
anyway, i just thot it was very insightful... :) well, but i guess when i was watching the movie, the more human stuff struck me, scences like Sam carrying Frodo, or when Araggon kissed Arwen at the very end, and Frodo parting with his best friends for a foreign land. and, when Sam was getting married, how Frodo had this tinge of sadness within him... bittersweet? I can just imagine myself being the same in the future...
after the movie, left to meet sabrina to pass her photos. met claire and huishan by chance... huishan kept calling me kyle, but i didn't hear... haha... well, i was searching for a pressie! oops... ate, walked abt for a bit... then left for home. was raining, shouldn't have wore my pants, they were so long... and it was just so hard to walk in them... :P
it was damn funny at wisma. there was this security guard, acting like a traffic police, blowing his whistle to stop pple from walking, so tt pple in Isetan could walk out to the other lane so they can go towards taka. wah, it was so crowded, pple were moving like snails... :P at the train station, it was even worse... pple were getting squished, and someone almost got squashed by the door cuz he was forcing his way in. then, the pple in the cabin were screaming and telling the crowd to stop entering. and the best part was, there were also pple trying to alight, but those outside refused to let them go out... gosh... have so sense pple! if they go out, you'd have space to come in... whatever...
anyway, going thailand for a few days... take care pple... cya then! :) if anyone needs me to buy anything for them, just msg me or sth... :P study hard for chem exams if u need to ya? ;)
